On the occasion of this 120th anniversary of the catastrophic floods in the Giant Mountains in July 1897, the museum prepared an exhibition of natural disasters that do not have a similarity in the modern history of Trutnov. Most affected are the settlements in the region around the Úpa River, ie Velká Úpa, Temný Důl, Horní Maršov, Svoboda nad Upou, Mladé Buky, Upper Old Town, Lower Old Town and Trutnov, where the arsonous water element required many human lives. The sightseeing is especially unique and often unknown, capturing the consequences of the flood.
The opening of the exhibition took place on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 5 pm with the participation of about 100 visitors. Musical accompaniment was provided by the pupils of the Art School Trutnov.
